01 / description

As part of the Saint-Nicholas Hill reconstruction and widening project, the City of Saint-Colomban awarded a contract to P54 for the preparation of plans and specifications, as well as site supervision, for the reconstruction and redevelopment of a section of Saint-Nicholas Hill, between Saint-Paul Hill and Filion Hill. This contract included, but was not limited to, the following work:

  • Construction of drainage structures;
  • Earthworks and landscaping;
  • Civil works for traffic lights;
  • Roadwork;
  • Geotechnical study;
  • Phase 1 environmental assessment.
02 / particularities

The project included adding turning lanes along a significant length of the street to be resurfaced and installing a drainage system on a section with minimal right-of-way. In addition, a sidewalk was to be added on one side of the street and a multi-use path on the other. Finally, a new pedestrian crossing was to be installed.

03 / complexities

Due to space constraints, the width of the landscaping had to be reduced to a minimum. Furthermore, the drainage and stormwater retention infrastructure had to be optimized to minimize its surface area.
